Coronado Island Beaches

Coronado Central Beach
Runs along Ocean Boulevard with a backdrop of fine homes and mansions. Restrooms and shower facilities. Lifeguards on duty. Tidepools, fishing in front of the Hotel del Coronado. Fire rings, dog run at north end. Free parking on Ocean Boulevard. Beach accessible wheelchairs are available to the public, free of charge, at the Central Beach Lifeguard Tower. Directions: come over bridge, turn left on Orange Avenue, right on Isabella to Ocean Blvd.

Coronado Dog Beach
Located in the picturesque city of Coronado, the dog beach in Coronado is at the most northern end of the beach next to the Naval Air Station. Wide and sandy, with the Pacific surf and the Hotel del Coronado in the background, Coronado’s dog beach is a nice getaway. Located on Ocean Blvd. near Sunset Park. Directions: come over bridge, turn left on Orange Avenue, right on Isabella to Ocean Blvd. Dog Beach is located at the northern most end of the beach near the military base entrance.

Glorietta Bay Park Beach
Located south of the Hotel del Coronado and City Hall, the Glorietta Bay Beach offers a unique view of the Glorietta Bay and the San Diego-Coronado Bridge. With a large grass-filled park, restrooms, playground equipment, and a small beach area, the Glorietta Bay Beach can provide hours of fun, and a relaxing time for all individuals. Directions: come over bridge, turn left on Orange Avenue, pass the Hotel del Coronado, turn left at Community Center (Avendia de las Areana), turn right on Strand Way. Public parking available.

Silver Strand State Beach
Located 4.5 miles south of Coronado Village along the Silver Strand. Fire rings, lifeguards, restrooms, showers. An underpass allows access to bayside beach and picnic area and Loews Coronado Bay Resort. Hours: 8 am to 7 pm. Contact (619) 435-5184 for reservations and fee information. Directions: come over bridge, turn left on Orange Avenue, pass Hotel del Coronado, travel about five miles on Silver Strand Boulevard (Highway 75), beach entrance will be on your right.

Ferry Landing Marketplace
Sandy beach adjacent to fishing/ferry pier. Grassy lawn with sweeping views of San Diego Bay. Restrooms. Free parking. (619) 435-8895. Directions: come over bridge, turn right on Orange Avenue, right on 1st Street, Ferry Landing parking will be on your left.
