Injury Traffic Collision on Silver Strand Closes Southbound Lanes for Eight Hours

Coronado, CA, May 17 – On Monday, May 16 about 6:50 pm, Coronado Police received a call of a solo motorcycle collision south bound on the SR 75 (Silver Strand Highway) between the Coronado Cays and Imperial Beach.  Both the driver of motorcycle and passenger were transported by ambulance from the scene.  Alcohol is presumed to be a factor in collision.

Due to the severe injuries to the passenger, the driver of the motorcycle was arrested for felony driving while under the influence of alcohol.  The driver was identified as 28 year-old Trevor Wilson, a San Diego resident.  The passenger was a 30 year-old female with an address out of Washington State.

The collision resulted in the closure of the south bound lanes of the SR 75 between the Coronado Cays and Imperial Beach for approximately eight hours for the investigation, evidence collection and subsequent clean up.
