2016 Coronado Promenade Concerts Loading Zones and New Rules

Note:  There are NO fires or BBQs allowed anymore due to new insurance coverage.  There are to be no solicitations or leafletting allowed during concert events.  Dogs are not allowed in the park, but they are allowed in the grassy area on the street side of the sidewalk.

CORONADO, CA The Coronado Promenade Concert series begins on Sunday, May 29. To help ease traffic congestion and ensure the safety of concert-goers, the City has created three curbside loading zones around Spreckels Park.

The City encourages the use of these loading zones to safely drop off people and picnic gear. Vehicles are expected to vacate the zone in 3 minutes or less. The 40-foot- long loading zones will be marked by signs and remain in effect Sundays, from May 29 to September 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. Most concerts begin at 6 p.m.  Loading zone hours for earlier concerts may begin earlier.

The three curbside loading zones as seen below are at:

  • C Avenue just beyond Sixth Street
  • C before Seventh Street, and
  • Seventh before Orange Avenue

loading zones for concertsThe summer concert series is held weekly on Sundays in Spreckels Park, through Sunday, September 11. A total of 17 free concerts will be offered this summer, including two double-headers. Here’s a link to the concert schedule.

The existing, permanent loading zone on Orange, midway between Sixth and Seventh, will be available but is not recommended for concert use due to heavy traffic on the busy roadway during the concert season.
